Someone’s already snapped up the size Small here, but sizes M - 2XL are still available online. A great buy for a fun Mitmunk design if you don’t mind the faint striping that occurred during printing.

Children’s leggings are on sale in our Etsy shop, including the Jester and Marbled Ink print.

It’s usually girls who get photographed wearing leggings, but don’t let that stop anyone who likes leggings from wearing them, whether or not they identify as a girl! The eldest of our boys finds Mitmunk leggings so comfortable that he often sleeps in them. Really. He’s got a pair of Jester ones, and another with a robot design that we’ll soon be releasing.

Vancouver folks can also get these from Little Earth Children’s Store on Commercial Drive.

My daughter Helena as Delirium and myself as Death from Sandman at Vancouver Fan Expo!

I’ve cosplayed for years, so my daughter has grown up seeing me in all kinds of costumes, but outside of Halloween stuff hadn’t taken much interest in dressing up herself so I never pushed the idea of cosplaying on her. Some of her favorite books in her collection are the little endless books about Deliriums adventures, she’s even shown them off at show and tell at school. So I’d been talking to her about this upcoming con I was going to and working at and she excitedly asked me if she could dress up as Delirium and have me go with her as Death. I was beyond excited at her request and quickly whipped these costumes up for us! Was so fun having her along with me and she really loved coming with me to a con for the first time. It was also awesome having her be the one who wanted to do the costume as she was in character the whole time introducing herself as Delirium and singing about her fishy balloon, even had her stuffed dog “Maribelle” cosplay with her as Barnabas.

You have no idea how happy this makes me.

A moment of calm before the doors of Heritage Hall opened last Sunday to shoppers at the 6th Annual Nifty for Fifty Clothing Sale.

We managed to have an enjoyable and fruitful day, thanks to Melissa Ferreira of Adhesif Clothing and her crew for organizing the event and making everything run smoothly. A big hello to everyone who made it out. It was nice to see the other designers and meet new folks too.

Nifty for Fifty was the first show we tabled at this year, so we’d kind of fallen out of the groove of doing shows. It was a long and somewhat tiring day for Wayne (he was there by himself almost all day until I joined him during the last fifth of the ten-hour day, including set-up), but it was also encouraging to hear people’s immediate feedback as they explored his designs. Connecting with the public is an important part of this business, so, needless to say, coffee and eats were involved to maintain energy and stay mentally present as the hours went by!

It was also valuable for us to see which items got more attention and which were passed over, prompting us to think about how the items were displayed, as well as the strength of the designs themselves. Our new Action Pants, for instance, were received with a lot of mirth but there wasn’t much engagement with them. Now, perhaps if Wayne modeled them at the next show…?

The latest from Mitmunk: ACTION PANTS!

These started out with Wayne looking at the leftover fabric after he had cut the legging panels from the bolt. We’re pretty conscientious about trying not to waste material, so we started brainstorming ideas for something to make out of the good-sized pieces of quality fabric, something that would be in the fun, wearable spirit of Mitmunk apparel. Some sexy printed underwear would be perfect, we thought at first. But considering the durable material, they would be some heavy-duty panties we ended up with.

We knew that the polyester and spandex blend would actually hold up well when exposed to water, so taking it to the next step was a no-brainer: ACTION PANTS! Great for swimming, hot yoga, or other activities where you want a little coverage but a lot of flexibility.

We’ll be selling these cute little pieces at Nifty for Fifty tomorrow at Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street in Mount Pleasant. Visit us and other great local designers from 11am - 8pm on Sunday, April 14. Everything will be $50 or less!

Some of these, like the Red Robot, Galaxy, and blue Marbled Ink designs, were adapted from our leggings designs and printed onto these Action Pants. The peach Marbled Ink and Lions designs (that cornflower blue one that looks like flowers from far away!) are exclusive to our Action Pants.

Once again our local Vancouverites get first dibs on these, but if we have any left, they will be available in our Etsy shop.

So we’ve started making dresses! We’re still tweaking the designs and pattern but there will definitely be some fun, pretty dresses coming out of the Mitmunk studio by the time summer rolls around. (You got a sneak peek of one design last month when it debuted at the David Bowie Glam Ball presented by LuvnGrace Entertainment.) The lightweight fabric will make this a good beach cover-up too.

This sunny tangerine dress is a sample we’ll be selling at tomorrow’s Nifty for Fifty Clothing Sale, where all clothing and accessories by local designers will be selling at $50 or less.

Wow, we’ve watched this image of our Armour printed leggings go from about 1130 likes/reblogs this morning to 2675 tonight…and counting! Thanks to everyone who’s been spreading the Mitmunk love on Tumblr. We’re glad you like the design! We’re a small business so this kind of exposure makes a huge impact. All your feedback is very much appreciated. Thanks again to nightquill for the original post.

For anyone who’s interested in getting a pair of these, you will have noticed that earlier today, we just had the size Small available. We’re working on producing some more and the size Large is next—they can be ordered on Etsy right now. The other sizes (Medium, X-Large and 2X-Large) will follow. If all goes well, they should be finished in about three weeks. We’ll try our best!

It’s been a while, but we finally have new t-shirt designs to announce! Remember our Soviet Space Race buttons? We now have the designs printed on t-shirts! Burnout tees with vintage postmarks commemorating USSR achievements in space exploration, including the launch of the Sputnik 1. These are a bit of a departure from Mitmunk’s classic graphic tees, as Wayne wanted to experiment with colour on the white burnout fabric.

We’re working on more, but for now, a few designs and sizes are available at Ayden Gallery at International Village mall, downtown Vancouver.
